Bob O’Neil – Retired Vice President of Preservation & Restoration of Universal Studios will discuss his 50-year career, touching on his days at Screen Gems Television, the restoration and reconstruction of the 1958 Orson Wells’ masterpiece TOUCH OF EVIL, and the 2008 Universal Studios fire.
Bob is a founding member of AMIA, the winner of AMIA’s first Spotlight award in 2014, and is a 30-year member of AMPAS.
INTO THE ARCHIVES – Show 6 (Regina Longo)
Regina Longo – Founding Director of Albanian Cinema Project and Associate Editor Film Quarterly Journal will discuss her early years at the L. Jeffrey Selznick School of Film Preservation, managing the restoring and reconstructing of the outtakes on Claude Lanzmann’s Shoah, and working on restoring Albanian film heritage. Regina also will speak about her friendship with Oddball film / San Francisco Media Archive founder and Albanian Cinema Project board member Stephen Parr.
She is being honored in 2017 by the Association of Moving Image Archivists (AMIA) with The Alan Stark Award.
